This website is owned and operated by the Wentworth Estate Roads Committee (“WERC”) as a community service. Your use of this website is subject to the following terms and conditions, which by using the website you are deemed to accept. This Acceptable Use Policy specifies the actions prohibited by WERC to users of www.wentworthestate.org.uk, and any related website, internet service or server (together, the “Wentworth Internet Network”).
User may be defined as "any customer or anyone who uses or accesses the Wentworth Internet Network".
WERC reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time and all amendments will be effective upon posting of the modified Policy to this website. Any modifications to this Policy will be made when WERC feels it is appropriate and it is the User's responsibility to ensure their awareness of any such changes.
When producing this site we rely upon the information provided by the individual subscribers as being accurate, and assume that the subscriber has ownership or relevant permission to use any images or material supplied for inclusion in the site. Charges for services provided by website
At the time of any user’s access of the WERC website(s), services discussed on these websites may be offered free of charge. WERC reserves the right to introduce charges for their services upon giving reasonable notice, which will not be less the one (1) calendar month.
User updatable site features: Rules of Acceptable Use
WERC may provide features that are updatable by users of the site. These services are intended to provide a forum for you to exchange information, options and comments. Please remember that this is a public space, open to all age groups, so whilst we welcome your opinions, please word your comments appropriately. Your use of this service is subject to the following terms which, by your use of the service, you are deemed to accept:
Rules of Acceptable Use
i) The Wentworth Internet Network may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or intellectual property right used without proper authorisation, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.
ii) It is important that the User is fully aware of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 (UK) and any action that contravenes this act would result in immediate termination of the account or the service and may be subject to legal action.
iii) You may not place on any site operated by WERC
(a) any obscene or offensive language.
(b) any material which is defamatory, abusive, discriminatory or hateful.
(c) any material which may encourage criminal conduct or which may give rise to civil liability, or which is otherwise unlawful.
(d) any material belonging to any person other than yourself without the prior written consent of the owner of it.
iv) WERC will be entitled to liquidated damages to represent the cost of removal of matter placed on any website operated by WERC in contravention of these conditions at rate of £100 per item to be removed.
Our Use of the Material
You grant WERC (and others authorised by WERC) the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, translate and distribute any material you place on the website. WERC reserves the right (but undertakes no duty) to review, edit, move or delete any material on this site, at its sole discretion.
i) The User acknowledges that WERC is unable to exercise control over the content of the information passing through WERC. Therefore, the Wentworth Internet Network is not responsible for the content of any message whether or not the posting was made by a WERC customer.
ii) The Wentworth Internet Network may be used to link into other networks worldwide and the User agrees to conform to the acceptable use policies of these networks. In addition the User undertakes to conform to the Internet protocols and standards.
iii) The User may not circumvent user authentication or security of any host, network, or account (referred to as "cracking" or "hacking"), nor interfere with service to any user, host, or network (referred to as "denial of service attacks").
iv) Without prejudice to the foregoing, WERC considers that any application that overloads the Wentworth Internet Network by whatever means will be considered as making profligate use of the Wentworth Internet Network and is as such NOT allowed.
WERC accepts no responsibility for any statements, material or other submissions placed on this website by you or any third party, or for any loss or damage resulting from any breach of these Rules of Acceptable Use.
You agree to indemnify WERC, and its employees and representatives, from any and all claims and liabilities (including legal fees) which arise from your statements, material or other submissions to this website, or from any unauthorised use of material obtained via this website or otherwise from your breach of these Rules of Acceptable Use or of any rule or policy specified in this Disclaimer.
The Terms of this site are governed by English Law and must be read in conjunction with any additional terms and conditions applicable to any individual member within the estate.
